Sunday School Resumes Sept 20
| Sunday School Underway - Temporary Location Changes Classes for all ages resume this Sunday, Sept. 20 at 9:00 am. Three adult classes are being offered. Note temporary locations due to worship being held in Fellowship Hall. 1. Andrew Kean will be leading the Young Adults class (college age up to 35, but the "young at heart” are welcomed). We will read and discuss Paul Miller’s A Praying Life. Books will be provided. See Andrew Kean to claim your copy! In the Annex building (across the rear parking lot from the fellowship hall). 2. Charlie Ingram will be leading a Bible Study from the Old Testament on the book of Ezekiel. All are welcomed. Upstairs classroom by the music offices. 3. Ron Lowe will be leading a study on Augustine and Our Cultural Moment. Grace House Conference Room (2412 E. 4th Street). As our churches and our society wrestle with widespread restlessness, manic hopelessness, and political panic, a 5th Century African bishop assures us that our generation is not the first to face these challenges. St. Augustine pastored witnesses to a rapid decline in traditional morality, the seeming evaporation of Christian influence, and the imminent fall of the Roman Empire. This class will consider the biblical wisdom that Augustine suggests for trusting God and faithfully stewarding His providence in our cultural moment. He shows us how to replace our disquiet with confidence that God’s eternal kingdom is unshakeable and that Christ is using our prayerful witness to fulfill His purposes for this generation and for those that will follow. |
