Update on Thanksgiving Baskets

The Thanksgiving Offering is an NCF tradition of sharing our abundance with folks in our church and community that may have a hard time providing a Thanksgiving meal for their families. This is not a one shot effort but part of a longer term building of relationship with those in need.

For Thanksgiving, we buy turkeys, canned goods, and some fresh produce and assemble and deliver boxes prior to Thanksgiving. The deacons anticipate about a 25% greater need for baskets this year. Food costs are up a lot also. Here's how you can help.

1. During the Sunday service Nov. 13, we'll have a special processional offering for the Thanksgiving Baskets project. We will give thanks to the Lord as all who wish to donate food items or financial gifts will be invited to bring their offerings to the front of the sanctuary. Checks should be made out to New City, with a memo "Thanksgiving Offering." See the list below for the list of food items you can bring.
  • Stuffing
  • Corn
  • Green beans
  • Pinto beans
  • Applesauce
  • Yams
  • Instant potatoes
  • Boxes mac/cheese
  • Boxed rice
  • Ramen noodles

If you are unable to attend this Sunday, you can bring food items by Nov. 18 to the church office during office hours (M-F 9 am- 4:30 pm). You can also donate online here.  Add a note to your online gift for "Thanksgiving Baskets."

2. You can help build or deliver boxes.  Please sign up to help here.
