Hurricane Ian Disaster Response

By now all of us have seen the devastation in Florida wrought by Hurricane Ian. People have lost family members, their homes and their places of employment. You may be wondering how you can help. The Lord calls us to show mercy and compassion to those in need. Mission to North America (MNA, the home mission board of our denomination) has a disaster response ministry and they have sent out information you can use to determine how you might help.

There are three main areas that you can consider in your own response to this disaster.

1. You can make a financial donation to MNA through their website pcamna.org.

2. You can donate a flood bucket (click for list of what a bucket should have in it). If you choose to do this you can bring your bucket(s) to the church office during office hours and we will see they get to where they need to be. This might be a good project for families, a good way to teach and involve children in mercy ministry!

3. You might want to volunteer to go down to Florida and lend a hand directly in the recovery. We are participating with MNA on this, and to go, you need to register as a volunteer here.  If you complete the registration process, please let either the office or Mark Mollenkof know, and we may be able to send a team from our church. For more info, contact Mark Mollenkof by email or  you can text him at 423.618.3137. He'll try to answer any questions you may have. (Please don't call him between 8 AM and 5 PM.)
