'Twas Mercy Brought Me Feb. 24

Join us at 10:00 am Feb. 24 in Rudy's Room at New City for a discussion of African American literature and faith led by Dr. Hannah Wakefield, Assistant Professor of African American literature at UTC. We will read and discuss poetry by Phillis Wheatley, who was simultaneously enslaved, African, American, Christian, woman, and poet. Several New City members who teach, write, and study African American literature will talk about their experience. Space is limited (30), so please register to reserve your spot. You may contact Hannah Wakefield for more information. Light refreshments and coffee will be served. Please be aware that childcare is not provided for this event.
